Cat lovers need to be a little careful about which treats they're lavishing on their cats. A batch of Blue Kitty Yums Cat Treats - chicken recipe - could be dangerous for cats, the Blue Buffalo Company announced Friday.
After a customer complained, the FDA tested the product and found the chemical propylene glycol in one bag of cat treats "in the impacted lot."
"Cats reacting to high doses of propylene glycol may exhibit signs of depression and may have a loss of coordination, muscle twitching, and excessive urination and thirst," the company said.
The company says that it has so far received have had no other reports of incidents related to our cat treats. "Out of an abundance of caution, we are voluntarily recalling all product manufactured in the same lot as the subject bag."
