Thanks to the quick actions of one brave animal-lover, a cat who got trapped beneath a Swedish ferry boat over the weekend is safe, warm and back on dry land. Crew member Stellan Stenberg said his animal-loving colleague, Johan Skärkarl, jumped in and rescued the cat by putting on a wetsuit and heading for the frigid water as quickly as he could. Skärkarl managed to pull the cat from underneath the ferry and placed it on his stomach, swimming to shore on his back while the cat cruised along. The men decided to film the rescue, in hopes of being able to find the cat's owners afterward.

"We heard the cat meowing when we were getting on to work," Stenberg told the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet. "It had probably fallen into the water and was trying to crawl up. [The cat] sat there and was distressed... but [it] stayed with us [after] and seemed curious."
