Hank, the Milwaukee Brewers' newest member, is lucky he has a fur coat. The mutt arrived safely in Wisconsin on Sunday, after traveling with a team entourage from Arizona. Late last month, Hank -- a stray believed to be a bichon frise mix -- ambled onto the Brewers' practice field in Phoenix and has been in the rotating care of team members ever since. Now, a team executive's family has volunteered to take Hank in for good.
The Brewers "officially" added Hank to their team roster before returning to Wisconsin, holding a small ceremony to present the dog with his own pup-sized jersey. Back in Milwaukee, Hank has become a city celebrity; mayor Tom Barrett called the dog a "pup-culture icon."
There will be another official event held in Hank's honor on Tuesday, when new canine-themed attire will be showcased at Milwaukee's Miller Park.
