SeaWorld announced that musicians Kid Rock and Alan Jackson will be stepping in as the new headliners for their upcoming concert series, after nine artists cancelled musical gigs at SeaWorld and two cancelled at SeaWorld-owned amusement park Busch Gardens in the wake of the CNN documentary "Blackfish." The announcement of new acts came on Wednesday -- just three days before the event begins. Jackson will perform at 5 pm Saturday, while Kid Rock will play at 4 pm on Sunday. According to the Orlando Sentinel, the remainder of this year's Bands, Brew & BBQ concert lineup will not be revealed until the week before the days they are scheduled to appear.

Artists like Willie Nelson, Martina McBride and Barenaked Ladies cancelled their appearances months ago, after protesters bombarded them with demands to drop out and created petitions on Change.org that got thousands of signatures. Some of the acts were outspoken about their reasons for cancelling -- the duo Heart even said, "What they do is slavery."

The only original acts remaining on the bill are country singer Justin Moore and former American Idol contestant Scott McCreery (though both are being targeted by their own petitions on Change.org here and here).

A petition has already appeared on Care2 asking both artists to cancel their performances.
