This Shelter Just Ran Out Of Cats

Happiest picture ever.

"More than 15 cats found their purr-fect homes over the weekend," Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) wrote on Facebook this week, "which means our Boston adoption center currently has ZERO cats available for adoption!"

Then something else amazing happened.

The image of empty holding cages at the shelter posted to Facebook caused an emotional outpouring from cat lovers who also chose to give homeless cats a real home.

"Our fluffy boy Nobu ... came from the ARL nearly five years ago!" one commenter wrote. "Glad so many other cats have found forever homes."

"Thumbelina is a rescue from two [years] ago," another wrote. "She's the tiniest, most amazing cat ever."

"Thanks for taking care of my little Amie," another wrote. "One year on and she's still a happy little bundle of joy!"

When there are an estimated 3.4 MILLION cats still waiting for homes in shelters all across the U.S., photos like these make us all remember that happy endings are truly possible.
