Black Pit Bull Is So Scared No One Will Ever Love Him

Both pit bulls and black dogs often get a bad rap, but one black pit bull currently waiting in a shelter is hoping to break through those stereotypes.

Declan was taken in as a stray by the San Bernardino City Animal Control in California and is believed to be around 2 years old, according to the Chicago Pets Examiner. No one came forward to claim him, so his only hope now is to be rescued or adopted.

A volunteer went to visit Declan at the shelter and filmed their encounter. In the video, Declan was so terrified that when the volunteer tried to get him to leave his enclosure, he simply lay down and refused. He looked overwhelmed and utterly defeated - until he was brought outside.

Declan had to be carried outside due to his nervousness, but once he was no longer amidst the chaos of the shelter, he calmed down immensely. He just wants to be pet and loved - but he needs to be pulled from the shelter very soon.

Declan is good with other dogs and just wants a home to finally call his own. If you or anyone you know might be able to adopt this sweet boy, you can contact the San Bernardino City Animal Control at (909) 384-1304. Declan's ID number is A486404.
