Anonymous To Japan: Stop Dolphin Hunts Or Face "Wrath"

The online hacktivist group "Anonymous" attacked the Japanese Government's web site this week in an apparent warning to officials to put an end to the gruesome dolphin slaughter carried out by Japanese whaling ships that was detailed in the 2009 documentary The Cove.

"STOP these slaughters IMMEDIATELY, or get ready to face the extent of our wrath." The warning read. The group attacked the websites of the prime minister's office, Taji, Wakayama Prefecture, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, and is threatening an attack on several other Japanese websites as well, unless Japan ceases its annual hunts, which kill 17,000 small whales, dolphins and porpoises each year.
