Look At These Poignant Portraits Of 9/11 Search Dogs, 12 Years Later

On September 11, 2001, nearly 100 search dogs were deployed to help survey the wreckage at the World Trade Center and Pentagon. Only 15 dogs survived to go on and live with their handlers across the U.S. In a heart-wrenching series of portraits, photographer Charlotte Dumas captured each of the dogs at home, dignified in her or his post-9/11 life.
