After a 7,000 mile journey, Christy Nicolay, an employee for the Olympic Committee in Sochi, finally got a flight at LAX from Russia. Nicolay had more baggage with her than when she left California -- an adorable stray puppy she adopted from Sochi named "Sasha."
In an interview with local KNBC News, Nicolay said she worked with two Russian veterinarians, Delta Airlines and the Centers for Disease Control to bring Sasha to Los Angeles.
"Everybody was coming by for pictures and to hold him and took turns," said Nicolay. "It was tough, but it was completely worth it for this moment."
