10 Year Old Forgoes Presents On Her Birthday, Gives Wildlife A Gift Instead

Madison Michele may only be ten years old, but that's not stopping her from doing her part to make the world a better place for animals.

Recently, when it came time to celebrate her turning the big one-oh, Madison made the wonderfully considerate decision to forgo asking for presents for herself this year, urging instead that her friends and family make a donation to help wildlife.

"It was more important to me to save an animal than to get another present," Madison Michele said.

With a little help from her mother, Madison created a personal fundraiser page at PandaNation.org, with all donations going towards the World Wildlife Fund. She had set a goal of $150, but before her campaign ended, those close to her had pitched in over twice that much.

The youngster's gesture of kindness towards helping animals is truly commendable, though rather than heaping on praise, she'd much rather have others follow her lead.

"Put your heart into it!," she says. "You're their only voice."

Happy birthday, Madison!
