And now your late night post... The extinction of species is a constant threat and the world must be vigilant to protect animals from destruction due to habitat loss, pollution and even the illegal trade of animal parts. We here at Big Fluffy Dog Rescue work to protect animals, even those not of the canine variety on occasion*, and tonight is no exception. Let's all say hello to Martin, a 5 year old South American panther fox** who is looking for a home. Martin is to our knowledge, the only South American panther fox in the continental United States and he is exceedingly rare. Martin came to us as part of a hoarding case in which many, many animals were kept tied to chains and to the best of our knowledge, before he got to us, he was tied up on a chain, too. Martin is a little shy, but very friendly and he is good with people and dogs. Despite his fearsome appearance, Martin is a 40-pound fluffball who wants petting, food and attention. He would prefer his habitat to include a fenced yard and perhaps, other South American panther foxes, but should one be unavailable, he'll settle for a dog friend. He is fine with people over the age of 8 and probably even younger, but we don't place panther foxes in homes with kids under 8 as a matter of principal. Martin is looking for a foster or forever home from Tennessee to Connecticut and places in between and reasonably nearby. Interested adopters or fosters should fill out an application at www.bigfluffydogs.com and then click on Online Application (for adopters) or Fostering FAQs (for fosters) and then email firstname.lastname@example.org. *Includes, but is not limited to, pygmy unicorns, direwolves, walrus mixes, hippogryffs, arctic foxes, hairless Mexican crocodogs, pyrminks, and so on. ** Sometimes referred to as schipperke shepherd mixes.
