Cat Insists On Carrying His 'Baby' Blanket Everywhere With Him

He's had it since he was a kitten ❤️️

Sara Budzynowski was working for Wilson Veterinary Hospital, which has its own in-house rescue called The Sparky Fund, when a litter of tiny 3-week-old kittens was surrendered. The kittens were all completely healthy except for one, who had to have part of his tail amputated due to an infection. The more she helped care for the little guy, later named Renly, the more Budzynowski fell in love.

“About a week after he got that part of his tail amputated, I took him home to foster him and the rest was history,” Budzynowski told The Dodo.

Budzynowski and her fiancé were over the moon about their little foster fail, and began spoiling him right away. They got him his very own cuddly blanket as well as a cute little stuffed bunny — and now, at 10 months old, he’s still completely obsessed with them.

In fact, he carries the blanket everywhere he goes

“He always loved his blanket from the day we took him home and usually carries it around his room to where he wants to sleep with it,” Budzynowski said.

Since adopting Renly, the couple has also added two corgis, Hotchner and Azula, to their family — and now that he’s a big brother, Renly has started sharing his beloved blanket with his siblings as well.

“Hotchner and Renly sleep in the same room and sometimes when we come home from work to let them out, we see that Renly will put his blanket next to Hotch’s crate and Hotch will try to pull it inside the crate with him, so it’s like Renly is trying to share it with him too,” Budzynowski said.

Wherever Renly goes, his blanket almost always has to be with him …

… and if it’s not, he turns to his bunny instead.

The blanket might mean so much to Renly because it was a gift from his parents, whom he loves even more than his coveted blanket. It’s basically a symbol of the day he got adopted, and his parents plan to make sure the blanket always stays with him.

“Over the months, that blanket has seen a lot and has gone through the wash so many times, but I can’t bear to replace it and plan on keeping it for him for the rest of his life,” Budzynowski said.
